Our Story
The first CO₂ water heating system in NZ dairy
Eco2Energy is proud to be the first company to introduce CO₂ water heating technology to New Zealand’s dairy industry, bringing proven international innovation into practical, everyday use on farm.
We saw a real opportunity to help farmers tackle rising energy costs, protect milk quality, and reduce stress in the shed. That’s why Eco2Energy systems are built around high-performance milk cooling and hot water technology powered by natural CO₂ refrigerant – a clean, efficient, and future-proof alternative to traditional systems.
We work alongside farmers to deliver practical, affordable solutions tailored to each farm’s needs. Our focus is simple: helping farmers save money, run more efficiently, and build a more sustainable future.

The people behind Eco2Energy
Nick Papa
CEO & Director
Nick is a refrigeration engineer with more than 20 years’ experience across commercial, industrial, and dairy systems. He leads Eco2Energy’s technical development and system design, with a strong focus on CO₂ technology, energy efficiency, and practical on-farm performance. Nick works closely with farmers to make sure each system is reliable, easy to operate, and designed to deliver long-term value in the dairy shed.
Ronnie Isgleas
Business Manager & Director
Ronnie is a food engineer with a master’s in business management and more than a decade of hands-on experience in the New Zealand dairy sector. She oversees operations, quality, and customer support, helping make sure every Eco2Energy system is delivered to a high standard. Ronnie brings a practical understanding of dairy processing, farm requirements, and the importance of reliable technology that performs every day.
Mike Donovan
Head of Business Development
Mike brings more than 18 years of experience helping farmers protect milk quality through better hygiene and wash systems. Before that, he spent 26 years as a dairy farmer himself. Mike understands exactly how sheds run, where pressure points are, and why reliable hot water and cooling matter. He works directly with farmers to design practical, high‑performance systems that fit the way each farm operates.
Scott Colquhoun
Territory Sales Manager, North Island
Scott brings more than 20 years’ experience in rural sales and business development, with a strong connection to the dairy sector. Raised around family dairy farms in the Wairarapa, he understands farm life and the need for reliable, practical technology. Scott works directly with North Island farmers, helping them explore Eco2Energy systems for hot water, milk cooling, energy efficiency, and better shed performance.
